Children begin their day in one of our outdoor play yards. Each day is balanced between structured activity and open-ended exploration, rest and motion, indoor time and time in nature. Early Childhood Waldorf education and teachers provide a nurturing structure that allows a child's capacities to develop naturally within. They enjoy seasonal songs, movement, storytelling, puppetry, crafts, painting, soup making, bread baking, beeswax modeling, and creative play.

My oldest did two years at SF Waldorf's nursery program (and has continued on to the Kinder program). I can't recommend this program enough. His time in nursery was magical. He loves school in a way that I could have only dreamed of. The staff and teachers are brilliant in the way they handle the fun and challenging moments. They meet children where they are and work with parents to resolve any issues that come up. I can only say that I can't wait until my daughter joins the program soon to have this experience.
