11 month old hits himself out of anger, is this normal or should I be worried?

Hi moms! My almost 11 month old recently started hitting his head with his both hands when he gets angry he tries to hit me too but I don’t let him, I’ve been reading it’s a common thing because they don’t know how to handle anger and frustration, and that it eventually goes away, but I wanted to know if y’all went or are going through the same and how you guys handle it. Also my first concern was because of autism but he does all the things a baby with autism “shouldn’t” be doing

My son is 13 months and hits himself too!!! I was thinking the autism thing too but when he hits I always tell him to try again but touch gentle and he’ll basically pet softly (with me, dog, friend, dad etc) so lately I’ve been telling him to touch himself gentle and he’ll stop and pet himself gentle lol I don’t know if that’s the answer but it seems to help a little at least

Dad here. Have you been able to identify the specific situations that make your child angry? It may be beneficial to try to reduce these situations or once identified, find a way to assist in reducing the stress. For example if you child gets stressed because they drop their bottle while feeding or because they drop a toy, try to find a solution in advance. May not work for every time but can assist some of the time

Thank you lol I’m gonna try to calm him down, tell him to do it gentle instead of just saying no.

Yes I have (josh) it usually happens when I take something away from him like my phone, or stuff that he shouldn’t be playing with

My son is 3 and he does this. He is not autistic. It only happens once in a while and it's usually when he hurts himself 🤷
