13mo sleep problems

Most nights she would sleep through or get up for a quick cuddle (10-15mins). Recently my 13mo has really started having a hard time sleeping during the night. Yesterday she woke up from her nap at 4pm (like usual) and we started to put her down at 745pm but she didn’t go to sleep until 9pm! Then she woke up at 11pm screaming/crying inconsolably and I finally settled her by going downstairs and watching Rio. We can’t keep doing this and we HATE bringing her in the bed (such a bad habit to break) but we have been. Has anyone gone through anything like this? We can’t keep staying up for 2-3hrs during the night and still wake up at 630/7am!! Any and all suggestions would be wonderful!

Is she teething? Or have an ear infection? Try some tylenol or motrin before bed to see if that helps. When my LO is having those types of sleep issues, that is usually the cause and I just end up giving her medicine before bed for a few days to help

She is teething (bottom molars). We have tried medicine and it doesn’t seem to help! She just doesn’t want you to put her down. Here we are again tonight 2hrs after going down for bed and she woke up. We have already been up for 30mins (atleast she isn’t screaming uncontrollably) and she won’t let me or my husband put her down in her crib.

Maybe adjust her sleep time; could be she isn’t tired enough for bed time. My daughter went through a phase like that for a while. Can’t remember if anything worked; just have to phase through it.

Update from earlier post. After 1 1/2hrs, diaper change, bottle, medicine and lots of cuddles from mama and dada we finally fell asleep once brought into bed with us. Could she be afraid of sleeping in the dark by herself? She has just a little egg shaped thermometer that lights up and white noise. Should we continue to cave and bring her into the bed so the house can sleep? My husband and I work opposite days and when we work we have to be up by 2am. So if the baby is waking up at 11pm and screaming bloody murder the other parent wakes up. Ugh stuck between a rock and a hard place. Maybe we can try adjusting her naps or even dropping her to one. The only problem is she wakes up at 630ish even after being up for 2+hrs in the middle of the night. When 930am come around she’s tired and will sleep till almost 1130. Because of this she still needs another nap in the day. How do I push that first nap later?

Maybe go to the ped to see if she has an ear infection. Some kids don't really show signs, but one is not wanting to be put down because laying down can hurt. As far as pushing the nap, try doing it by 30 mins at a time. Also, if she takes a later nap, keep it really short (30 mins) and make sure she is up at least 3-3.5 hours before bed. I dropped my LO to 1 nap when she started getting up at 4:30 ready to play. We also pushed her bedtime a little later so she is usually up for 5 hours before bed.

Teething plays a huge role, my son is the best little sleeper but teething will mess him up for a few weeks. And I agree with trying to wake her up from nap earlier, we always wake by 3:00 in bed at 7:30
