2 year old barely eating for weeks now

Anonymous

Does anyone else have issues with this? I can’t seem to get my 2 year old to eat much at all. For the last two weeks he will eat a yogurt and toast for breakfast and then maybe 3-4 bites of whatever meal we have plus a fruit cup throughout the day and that’s it. It seems like such a small amount compared to what he normally eats. He seems perfectly healthy but now we are also having problems with getting him to sleep. I’m not sure if him not eating well is causing the issue or if it’s just a coincidence.

Sleeping and lack of appetite sounds like teething! Molars here you come!

Oh man! I didn’t think those were symptoms. With all his other teeth he was super cranky and drooling constantly. I hope he doesn’t get that way by the end of it.

Is he getting teeth? My son will barely eat when he’s getting teeth especially molars. My pediatrician says in that case to not sweat if they skip a meal or pick at food( as long as they are maintaining a healthy weight) just make sure they keep drinking and stay hydrated. Maybe if you’re concerned with nutrition give him a pediasure to make sure he’s getting enough?

My son is a drooly cranky mess when teething but with molars he’s all of that on top of barely eating! It probably hurts to chew that’s why he will eat the yogurt and a fruit cup and not the rest of his food.

I put frozen peas, spinach and kale in his fruit smoothies 2 x a week because hes a picky eater. He loves his smoothies because he thinks fruit and apple juice are all i put in them lol

2years old is a slower growth year so it normal for kids to eat less just listen to him/her he will tell if he needs to eat and make sure your only giving him 3 glasses that is 8oz of milk a day for then that your filling him up on milk instead of food and milk will curdle in the stomach casing tummy upsets
