Going forward it's good to just be really protective of your body around your 3 year old. As much as I wanted to always cuddle my daughter and let her lay on me, I also had to remember I was protecting my other daughter in there! He should be old enough to understand if you make it clear what he can and can't do around you. He'll also need to be very careful when the baby is born so it's a good time to start really drilling it into him that it's not OK to be wild around the baby. I just constantly reminded my older daughter when I was pregnant and I still have to remind her sometimes to be careful around her sister.
