ABA is not the gold standard. It simply teaches kids who can’t do certain things how to fake it. If eye contact is difficult for your daughter ABA will make it manageable, but it’s never going to be something that she will want to do. Teaching the script of, “I am fine, how are you?” Doesn’t actually make her interested in the answer. It’s a script and it serves no purpose. I suggest you try a different form of therapy that addresses her strengths and modifies the environment in a way that she can function. Picture cards to point to, text to speech computer programs, etc. also the Keto diet that someone else mentioned. Heal the gut and you’ll heal her brain.
