My son also never took a bottle and he just breastfeeds because he likes it. I gradually reduced dropping a feeding at a time. Once I got him used to regular milk I was able to ditch the last day feeding I had. The nap time nursing session was eliminated by making sure he had a good snack about half an hour before nap. That way I knew he didn’t feel hungry. I had to find another way to help him fall asleep. I still cuddled him like I would have if he were getting nursed after a few days he accepted it. Then later in the day he usually asks for “Mimi” and I say are you thirsty? Moms going to get you a nice glass of milk and I make sure I stand up and keep busy for a little after I give him the cup so he has time to drink and get satisfied. If I sit down he’ll jump to my lap right away and ditch the cup and ask again for Mimi. Instead of nursing he spends time in my lap with books. I think they miss the mommy time more than anything. I’m still struggling with the before bed feeding but being as it doesn’t interfere with my day I’m fine with it for a little while longer. I’m slowly trying to separate it from sleep time which I feel will help me eliminate the feeding later.
