London, Greater London

After seeing Wellington's tomb my son was interested to learn a little more about Wellington, and why he was so special to England's history. The arch and nearby statue were conveniently on our path, so we took a few minutes to admire it and explain his role as a military leader. There was also a memorial to WWI soldiers nearby, which included a sculpture of some sort of missile launcher (military/arms enthusiasts will cringe at this description, sorry!) -- another interesting site for a little boy who is interested in how the military "defeats the bad guys, to keep us safe."
