Almond milk

Anonymous

My son has a cows milk allergy so he is on Nutramigen. He is turning 6 months in a free days and I just want to put him on straight almond milk or supplement his formula with it since the formula he is taking is getting out of hand pricy now that he is consuming more of it. Anyway. Question is has anyone done this transition and noticed any reactions being it good or bad?

Babies should be on formula or breast milk until 12 months. Almond milk or cows milk does not have the right/enough nutrients for them. Have you tried to apply for WIC to help with formula costs?

You can’t stop formula until a year. Almond milk doesn’t have everything baby needs. Talk to your doctor to see if they have samples or ideas to help you out. But if you start even supplementing large amounts with almond now you’ll hurt your baby. Please talk to your doctor and see what the minimum formula they need a day

People may have some posted for discount on things like Offer Up, unopened of course.

My son was on nutramigen until about a month ago. He is 7 1/2 months now. I asked my doctor how I should transition to cows milk. He put him on simulac pro total comfort. He’s been doing really good. A little gas but not much of a difference. He would get bad stomach issues on the gentle ease.

What about soy formula or goat's milk formula?

By chance do you live near an Aldi? We were frustrated by how much we were spending on name brand formula and had luck finding what we needed there for only $12 a container. They have sensitive, gentle, and soy formulas too. It saved us so much money. After my daughter reached a year, we were able to give her almond milk. She likes soy milk in her cereal too. Plant milks are fortified with vitamins and my pediatrician was very supportive of the transition.

Try Walmart brand they have different types of formula, gentle, soy, etc for much cheaper than name brand
