Any tips where to have my baby ear pierced?

Is it safe to have it outside the doctor’s office? Where is good and budget-friendly piercing place? :) We just wanted her to have a little accessories before her first birthday. Thanks in advance.

Depends on how old your daughter is. The best and safest place is tattoo salon, but when I wanted to do that with my daughter, they said she’s too young and they can’t.

Most shops I've gone to will not pierce a babys ears because they can not consent. I mean...what purpose do they really serve anyways?

Thanks for the tips mommas! :) i haven’t reallt thought of a tattoo salon. We inquired in Claire’s and they do it for approx $40. Which is too much for budget. We just tried the one in walmart. They do it for free as long as you buy their selection of earrings ranging from $15-$30. There are other branch that requires two people to do the piercing at the same time (which i think is a little horrifying for the baby). So, we went to a branch where a 1 trained personnel can do it by herself. It was swiftly done and they give after care instructions and solution for cleansing good for 6 weeks. Not sure when is the best age to pierce a baby’s earlobes, but the rule of thumb will be when they already had their tetanus shot. :)

I would personally wait until the child is 3 or 4. But if you are going to get it done i would go to a tattoo shop.

I recommend anywhere that does not use an ear gun, the guns are typically made of plastic and are only wiped with an antibacterial wipe between uses- which is nowhere near as sterile as a new needle from a tattoo shop or doctor's office. Also important to consider that Doctors and Tattoo Shop Piercers are professionals with years of training on the human body and how the piercings affect it.

Tattoo/piercing shops are the only place that should take place or you risk someone who doesn't really know what they're doing or unsanitary environment specifically for piercing.

Tattoo shop! Certainly safer and more sanitary than anywhere else. You risk picking up an infection or virus in a Dr.s office. Although I have personally never heard of a Dr office willing to perform this service!

Wait until she wants it. Children are people, not a fashion accessories. If she gets an infection or worse from an unsterile piercing instrument, you’ll feel awful.
