Baby food/ bottles

What is a good schedule on giving baby food but still keeping bottles. My baby is 6 months and I try to give her baby food but when I do she doesn’t want much of a bottle. Trying to figure out a schedule.

I started to offer both my boys solids just once a day at that age...and gradually added two more as their appetites increased. I chose to offer supper at first, in hopes it would help them sleep better at night! Then right before bed, nurse/bottle.

My LO is 6 months and she usually gets food twice a day. She has breakfast and dinner about 45-60 mins after a bottle.

Mine 6 months and she gets 3 meals a day with the 5 groups (protein, cereal, good fats like peanut butter, fruit and vegetables) I always do it an hour and a half before her bottles, she still drinks about 32 oz of formula. I guess the schedule is going to depends on you and what you do during the day, her last meal is about 6:30pm with all of us at the table and her last bottle is at 8ish pm

At that age I gave her the solids after the bottle (between bottles, about an hour after she finished). If she does cut back on bottles, don’t get too worried unless it’s significant. The whole food before one is just for fun thing didn’t apply to my daughter at all and she grew beautifully and never fell below her percentile curve. She loved solids so much that by 8-9 months she was only drinking 18 oz/day in bottles and the rest was food and water.

My daughter did soft food for lunch and dinner with the family and about an hour after 3 oz of soft food, she drinks nearly a full bottle of BM.

She was taking 4 6-8oz bottles a starting at 7:30,11:30,3:30,7:30 then would go to bed about 8:30 or so. But now I give her cereal/baby food around 9:30am after her morning nap and then trying to figure out another time to feed her. I just can’t feed her baby food to close to bedtime because it seems to give her a tummy ache in the middle of the night.

In that case I would offer her the second food between the 11:30 and 3:30 bottle the same way you do it for the morning cereal.

I pretty much did the same as Julie, by 6 months my little one was on 3 meals and 4/5 bottles a day. I would do a meal about an hr after a bottle. You could try between 11.30 and 3.30 or maybe @4.15/4.30 so its not close to bedtime.

Yeah! Between those hours would be good like @julie said, also is true that with solid food babies stop the intake of breast milk or formula, but is also ok if they don’t want solid/soft food and only want the bottle! Remember You are doing it great 😉

Perfect! For some reason I just couldn’t figure out those times. I think I need a vacation. Thx

Solids was at noon and 6ish when my little one was 6 months old n breastfed in between whenever hungry. Now he eats solids 3 times a day but breakfast is always just breastmilk.

We found that it’s much easier to get our babies to eat solids / new foods when they’re hungry, so we have always done food at meal times and then the bottle immediately after they’ve had their food. It’s worked well for us.
