Reply to Toddler jumping on baby belly

So I agree with first poster on what to watch out for. And honestly, I wouldn’t be too hard on your three yr old. He’s not gonna think about it when he gets super excited, sad, mad etc. that’s a lot to expect. I am currently 30 weeks pregnant, and have a. 4.5, 3, and 1.5 ur old. I cosleep, with the exception of my First, each child has received accidental kicks or head first hugs when they were in my belly. It’s the nature of the beast. I’ve always been concerned, but it always turns out fine. The research I’ve done makes It sound more like it needs to car crash level or fall down a flight of stairs level. Hope this helps. The last thing you want to do is push your 3 yr old away right before a new baby arrives. It can’t hurt to explain, I always explain I need gentle love to keep the baby safe, my 3 yr remembers prob 90 percent of the time at this point. But when he slips I do not push him away or get angry, but I will say that hurt and coulda hurt baby, let’s remember to be safe because I know you are a good son and big brother to baby. Or something like that. Hope this helps! Here’s to the homestretch of a summer pregnancy!!
