Breastfeeding/back to work

Soon to go back to work, any advice on pumping while at work?? Also I’m having a hard time with pump after you feed, how do you do that? Like what does the baby do while you’re pumping? Thanks!

Following!!! Going back to work this week. I personally pump in the morning while my baby play on her mat it is not always easy otherwise I wait until her morning nap and make sure she will not be hungry within the next hour. Also I try to give her one side and pump the other one.... But I would love to have any other tips !

It’s all going to depend on your personal schedule and the availabilities you have at work. I pumped before I left for work and when I got home. While I work, I have a job where I rotation positions, and I was lucky enough to have private locations to pump on the job. I would usually TRY to pump while baby slept.

I’d wake up early and pump one side, then feed baby on other. Then do another pump when I went to bed at night. Once working i added two pumps during the day.

They make these water bead heating pad things! I got mine at target. I love them. You put them in the microwave for like 15 seconds. I wear them while I put my do not disturb sign up, set up my pump etc. It cuts down the amount of time until my let down and I pump just a little bit more. Madela also make these quick clean wipes. The heating pads plus the cleaning wipes gets me pumped and cleaned up in like 10-15 minutes.

Pumping never worked for me. I exclusive bf both kids and had enough milk but pump was showing a little. It made me depressed. Try to keep your baby on breast as much as you can. It will increase your supply. Do not keep a schedule,
