Bunk beds

What’s a good age to put two siblings in bunk beds? I have a 2 year old and a one year old but I wanted to put the crib under the bunk, to save space in our apartment

Honestly, it seems quite unsafe for them on a bunk bed.

I've seen the IKEA Kura bed used as a bunk bed- seems safe. Will have to move my 2 1/2 year old there when the new baby comes.

Is your two year old going to jump off the top bunk? Mine would, she has no fear and that’s what I would be afraid of. So I would say an age where your child understands safety. So like 30 ha ha ha. But really it’s when you know your child is safe enough.

My oldest has a bunk bed and my 2 year old kept hurting herself on it. I’d hold off on that. I had to remove the ladder to stop her from getting up.

We got bunk beds when my middle was a couple months shy of two and my oldest was three.

We’re planning on doing trundle beds for my 3 and almost 2 year old. I prefer a trundle bed for aesthetics (bunk beds save space by building up, but can be such an eyesore, making the room look cluttered), and I also think they’re more safe than bunks.

I have a two year old and he has a bunk bed and loves it I honestly got it because I was sick of him climbing on the cat climber

I have a 13 year old and 2 year old and got them bunk beds with my little one being on the bottom. I just suggest putting some sort of barrier on it cause my little one fell out of bed the first few nights. But if your putting 2 little ones I would just practice with them with the ladder before leaving them alone that's what I did with mine was show him how to safely get up and down so when he's alone in the bedroom I don't have to worry about him falling because he knows how to safely use it. So I would just recommend practicing with the ladder first before actually moving them to the beds

Most bunk beds can be easily fitted with a guard-rail type thing that goes on the site that you don't put against the wall. I used that and it made me feel better.

Two is a little young to be up high like that i feel. Id get a little toddler bed for him or put his old crib mattress on the floor. If you must do a more space saving solution....a trundle bed would be better than a bunk for safety.

Most bunk bed manufacturers say 6 years old. Even the shorter one with the slide. A lot of people may use them younger but it is a safety issue. They can share the bottom bunk at first, or most can be used unstacked. They do have rails, but those are more to prevent roll-outs, not active climbers.
