Cloth Diapering

What is the best brand of prefolds to buy? What’s your favorite cloth diapering brand and why?

We don't have experience with prefolds, but with AIOs and pocket diapers, we have LOVED Thirsties and Lil Joey/Kanga Care. - throw em right in the washer... AND dryer - no leaks, no blow outs Alva Baby are thinner, inexpensive and waaay cuter but have leaked in our experience. That said, we could add a doubler, which might be an inexpensive fix (still more inexpensive than Thirsties or KangaCare). We just use the Alva Baby diapers for when we know baby will be in diaper for less than an hour (ie the change right before the feed). Hope this helps!

Do you use cloth-eez at night or all the time? Paired with a cover?

Sorry, you asked why—they are super soft and durable, hold up well. We have used everything, so many brands, and different types of diapers. My favorite cloth is AIOs, Blueberry brand. They are just the best-best fit and quality, but they are pricey.

Yes, you need a cover, and not at night-we did disposables at night. The workhorses were my favorites, though they are more like fitteds, but the prefolds are excellent quality, too.

I’ve never tried their prefolds as I prefer all in ones but bum genius is my favorite brand.

Workhorse (Cloth-eez) is a good prefold. I like Alvas for price, quality, and styles. I also prefer the stay dry on Alvas over the typical fleece. I don’t buy the inserts as I’ll use a prefold or flour sack towel with a Zorb insert and it goes from meh, to nice! But my all time favorite brand is Grovia. The quality for the price is well-deserved. Other diapers in similar price ranges just don’t feel as nice to me. The Grovia ONEs are my absolute favorite as it’s super absorbent, especially when you use both inserts for night time. The fleece is also a quality fleece, though not micro fleece, does not pill into hard balls, but stays rather soft. And the gussets in Alvas and Grovias have held up over the years, something I cannot say for other brands, especially bum genius

I love ordering from green mountain diapers. So many sizes, types and styles to choose from.

I recommend snappis for your cloth instead of pins safer and easier. We used prefolds from green mountain diaper and used rumparooz for the covers. Bought some newborn covers off of Etsy and also rumparooz brand then also did rumparooz one size.
