Crouppp! My fourth month old love got croup. It's been terrible to hear him choke, cough and sneeze so much. His beautiful voice is gone. The little angel baby decided to share with mommy and daddy. I'm sick as hell and just run down. I'm not sure what else to do to make my little man feel more comfortable. Any suggestions?

Oh I'm so sorry! Croup is the worst! This may not work depending on your weather, but when I had it as a child my doctor said to run a hot shower in a closed bathroom and breathe in the steam for about 20 minutes, then go outside and breathe in the coldest air possible. It was winter at the time and so it was pretty cold, and it worked extremely well at relieving the coughing.

Be careful when I had croup as a child I had to be hospitalized and spend a few nights in an oxygen tent. I would contact the consulting nurse to see what you can do for him at home and what to watch out for.

I second steamy bathroom. Just be careful transitioning back into normal home. Leave bathroom door open for a couple of moments before you exit, so as to let the environment gradually shift before you do! Sending healing vibes to the whole family.

My son has been getting croup since he was little too. It sucks. Watch for breathing difficulty. If he's really struggling too much they can use a special med nebulizer to open up the airways at most urgent cares. Cold air is the best treatment because it soothes the inflammation in the throat. Maybe stand in front of the freezer.
