Daycare fees?

I’m going to be taking care of my best friends baby while she is at work for a few months, I’m not sure how much to charge her. I don’t want to ask too much from her, as she’s always volunteering to watch my kids for free but I can’t take care of her baby every day for free. Her and her husband are both in the navy so it will be about 8-10 hours a day 5 days a week and occasionally weekends or nights. I’m already a stay at home mom with two little ones so taking in another won’t make a huge difference. I want to ask for a monthly amount instead of hourly because the hours will vary greatly depending on her and her husbands duty days. How much should I ask for?

You should be charging and those are some long hours I would say either 175-200 a week or 500 a month and she should be happy a friend is watching her baby.

I watch my friends 2 kids for 300 a month to help out. The whole point is for her to save money on daycare though. I mostly use it to pay for food, extra snacks, new play things. Always have them provide diapers, wipes, formula.

I forgot to add I watch them 65 hours a week.

Average child care fees will vary greatly depending on your location. I charge my brother in-law $25/day for infant care and that's usually only 2-3 days/week and 12 hour days.
