Did any other parents have a harder time trying to conceive the second time? We were so lucky with our first child and conceived very quickly. This second time has not gone as easily at all and I am feeling quite discouraged and sad. I know stress isn't helpful, I try to lower my anxiety and stress daily through many different natural techniques (yoga, meditation, paced breathing, oils, etc.). Any helpful tips or shared stories would be truly appreciated 💕

It took us longer than we would have liked, to conceive the second time, due to irregular periods. We used the Ovia fertility app to track ovulation and it was extremely helpful

It took us longer the second time... however, I was overly concerned about it. When it finally happened I was shocked! It’s like the moment I quit focusing on it boom! I was preggo the second time 😊 sending positive vibes your way!

Took us longer too. Preseed lube seemed to work for us... at least that’s what I give the credit to.

Also take musinex when you're fertile. It will loosen all your mucus, even cervical.

Took us longer also. Watch out with the Ovia app. I started using it and I very quickly got obsessed with conceiving and possibly being pregnant. I put the app away and only used it to figure out my fertility window. The second I stopped caring so much we got pregnant.

We had to do IVF to conceive our second (who I'm currently 34 weeks pregnant with) even though my first was conceived naturally on our second month of trying. I always tell people now to see a reproductive endocrinologist if it's not working naturally and you've been tracking/trying consistently for a few months (some doctors say to give it a year but if you're eager then you can go sooner). In our case, we uncovered male factor infertility that was causing the problem so all the months I spent doing natural stuff was wasted because it wasn't me. Hang in there!

I breastfed my first for like two years and during that time we didn’t conceive until I started to wean him. I’m currently 22 weeks due in August . So don’t stress too much! Your body needs to heal before it can conceive again :)

    Are you charting your cycle?

Have you been using a hormonal birth control in between? That’s why it took so much longer for us the second time. Because I had been using hormonal BC for 5 years and it took a while to get my system back to normal.

Also have your thyroid checked. My thyroid levels were out of whack. Once they were normalized I got pregnant the first month. A baby needs 40% of your thyroid in the first trimester.
