Dosage on Tylenol and Ibuprofen

My pediatrician gave me this chart. This seems like a huge dosage compared to the other charts I have seen. I still give my 9 month old 1.875mL of Motrin because that’s what the box says for his weight. According to this chart it’s for a 8-10 lb baby. Not to sure if I should go by this chart or not.

Honestly that's the same amount my pediatrician told me too so it seems fine to me

Why is it so different from the dosage on the box? It’s not like it’s slightly different

This looks off to me. Have you double checked the concentration? There is a difference in concentration between infant and children’s, so it could be that this is the dosage for the children’s suspension and not the infant suspension.

My youngest is 25lbs and we give him 2.5 ml of the infant Motrin, FYI.

From what my pediatrician told me there is no infant suspension anymore because there were too many cases of overdose and the amount on the box is for children. I could be misremembering though, I'm a mom not a doctor lol

The Motrin website seems to suggest that the dosage referenced above is in fact the children’s dose and not the infant dose. Their dosage chart can also be found here: https://www.motrin.com/children-infants/dosing-charts

Like others said, compare the dosage (100/5ml) to your box to make sure they are the same.

The dosage is the same. That’s why I don’t get why the dosage is different from the box vs this sheet.

Thank you all for replying, I did see that it’s the Children’s dosage and not the infant. That’s crazy they give them out instead of the infant version. ESP cause it can lead you to giving the little one to much. I found Kids Wellness very helpful. It’s an app that you download on your phone and you have the right dosages for medicine and helps keep track of dr app

I still question why a dose for a six year old is the same for a 12 year old on most syrups; how?!
