DOUBLE STROLLERS: Tandem or side-by-side? Any specific recommendations for something budget-friendly (<$300) and lightweight? Weight is a big thing for me... thinking about all the lifting I'd have to do in order to get both kids out the door is enough to deter me from wanting to go out at all.

I had both and never used the tandem. It always seemed big, heavy, and awkward. I loved our side-by-side. It is a Schwinn and it is lightweight.

Thank you. Definitely leaning towards the side-by-side.

Tandem! So much easier for door ways and Dr appts. Sometimes I just take the stroller in the Dr office room (instead of leaving it in the hall) , where the side by side would never fit in those little rooms. Any one that also fits car seats is handy too, but not necessary.

Had a tandem, but sold it after only a few months. Got a citi mini double and it’s awesome! We have taken that stroller soooo many miles. It’s not exactly “light” but it’s easy to fold up and pop back out again. Mine stays in my van the majority of the time.

I have a tandem (contours options) and love it! Have used it tons! But we rented a city mini double when we went to Disneyland and that was pretty great too! A great option for side by side without being too bulky. The only downside was it couldn’t fit through some doorways.

I suggest the tandem unless you are a jogger/ Walker. The more expensive brands can be worth it as far as smooth ride goes. Baby Jogger makes a single that can have a seat added to make into a double. Really wish I knew about that when I was pregnant with my first! That way you aren’t stuck with a large double.

Had both tandem is easier to get through doorways, aisles in store and maneuvering around in department store. Also walking the streets in town.

Caroline, the Zoe stroller is one I've been looking at but the tandem with six wheels seems a bit much. Which do you have?

I just got a side by side stroller and it's awesome and super light! But it was really expensive ... the bugaboo donkey. I love it!!

I have the single Zoe but see many people with the double and heard good reviews. It’s super light and easy to get around! The wheels are ok not the best but works for us

Had both. I lived in South Beach Art Deco area- small door frames made it impossible with my side by side jogger there. So I got a tandem that had multiple facing positions. That was like the Target kids shopping cart- impossible to turn with it being so long. Tbh, my fave stroller I had was from Babies r us- a twin umbrella stroller. Unfortunately you can’t use them til the baby gets bigger, but def made pushing 2 18 mo babies around a lot easier😅😅😅

Wondering if this is for twins or for siblings since there may be alternate options as well (sit and stand) I love the following site. She has a good review of both tandem and side-by-side strollers with pros/cons and weight + width measurements: https://www.lucieslist.com/best-strollers-twins/ We preferred side-by-side because we didn’t want stadium seating (only 1 kid really having a view) nor dealing with a super long stroller We got the Britax double side by side and like it. Fits through doors just fine. A bit on the heavier side but folds up easy.

We have always used tandem. We had a kolcraft contour one, a graco duo, but the one we love the most it our phil and teds. It's by far the best we've had. I've seen some like new on craiglist for a decent price.
