Eating solids

I have a 6 month old who will be turning 7 months in a few days she’s been on solids for about a month and a half all ready . my husband and I were curious if eggs were ok for her to eat. Any ideas?

Eggs and dairy is recommended after 1 year

We gave our daughter eggs around 6/7 months I think. I read a lot about introducing potential allergens (eggs, peanut butter) early/before the one year mark to avoid developing an allergy so thats what we did and what worked for us.

Yes! Wait 3 days between new food so you can see if there's any allergic reaction. We tried whites and yolks separately.

We did scrambled eggs and made sure to mash them up. I found what worked perfectly was putting the egg in a 2 cup Pyrex and add a little water and heating in the microwave for about 1 minute and 15 seconds. Doing it this way avoided using cooking sprays and way quick. I made sure it was watery enough when serving, otherwise baby had a hard time gumming it and it took her a long time. Good luck!

We were advised by our pediatrician to offer eggs at 9 months and to start with the yolk first then egg whites. Whites contain the allergen that some people are allergic to.

My pediatrician told me unless I had a known family history of allergies, the only thing I should not let her eat was honey and whole milk. Those we started at a year old, but I gave her eggs all the time and she loved them.

Our LO has eggs around 6/7 months. She’s 9 months now and other than honey we’ve let her try almost everything we eat. Our nutritionist said to wait 2-3 days before introducing new foods, but having a mom that’s from overseas they don’t follow rules like that and literally feed everything and so far so good. But each child is different and if you do have known allergies I’d take it slow.

My pediatrician Recommended it for starting him out on solid food to do eggs because it’s solid but it’s soft

Yeah, as long as you wait a couple days after the eggs before trying something else new, you’re good. Scrambled is best, no runny eggs. We let our LO try everything but honey before 1. We even started the whole milk around 11 months- a gradual switch. Now she loves peanut butter, eggs, strawberries, you name it.
