My son is 10 months old and is really only eating purée food. I’d like to get him eating more table foods but he only has two teeth. What are some good mushy foods?
My daughter loved bananas and avocado. Unfortunately they both constipated her!! She also loves watermelon, corn, super shredded meats like slow cooked chicken, pork, etc.
Almost anything you can eat he can eat. Even with only two teeth, you just have to soften and mince when necessary.
Oh!! Steamed broccoli and cauliflower. Steamed to almost mush (they hold their structure when you pick them up but they fall apart in your mouth). My daughter loves those still (the gas can get stinky though, I won’t lie!!).
Hi Amanda my baby 10’months old too! But she ate everything. Rice, fish, beef, bread, vegetables. But she never likes baby food! But I star with her with mushy rice. I cook the rice and put more water that normal and she start eating solid like that. I try to put small pieces of avocado and sweet potato so she can practice eating with her hands.
Super ripe mushy pears cut into strips, mushy steamed carrot, also cut up, and cottage cheese were some of my guy’s favorites! if you can easily smash it between two fingers , baby can chew it with just his gums
Your child doesn’t need teeth to eat solids. My 7 month old has been eating everything since 5.5 months or so and just got his first tooth. I cut everything into finger size strips (width and length of my pinky usually) and let him at it. He even ate steak before having teeth. If you are worried to dive in do steamed veggies and different fruits first. I personally found that shredded meat is harder since he doesn’t have a pincher grip yet, hence why I do strips.
Any soft fruits and foods: bananas, mashed potatoes, meat loaf, bread (in small pieces easy to gum and swallow) rice, oatmeal...
to boost his immunity focus on vegetable smoothies like spinach and carrot and avocados and mango and oats with honey
and make soup with Broccoli carrot potato and oats with chicken soup that will make him eat the solid food in an easy way and with a lot of benefits try to make all this with fresh ingredients not ready soups cans or powder
and there is another way like but a different kind of cereals on cupcake pans and let him pick whatever he likes to try
My son is also 10 months old, and is going through the same thing. I’ve tried fruit and other soft foods, but he just spits it out. He only has 4 teeth. Don’t give up on trying to get baby to eat solids. I keep trying with my son every so often. I still give him baby food.
Please don't give honey before a year, it can cause botulism. @Heba
My daughter is 8m old with no teeth and I feed her whatever I feel comfortable with her having. Depending on what it is I cut it into bite size pieces for long French fry shaped pieces.
oooh yes I forgot about that yes that's right noooo honey before one year sorry
Don’t forget things like beans and lentils Halved chickpeas!
My daughter is 8 months old and she eats everything we eat.
Steam up apples, sweet potatoes, carrots, broccoli etc until they are soft enough to smush between your fingers and give it to him in larger pieces he can hold. They tend to innately bite off only as much as they can handle. Monitor them, they’ll get the hang of it
I made soup for my 11 mon old. Got a turkey breast with bone and boiled it with carrots, malanga root, onion, garlic, pepper and added spices like cumin, pepper, a pinch of salt, oregano, basil and once it was done I took the bone out and puréed it a little with rice and he loves it. I left it with some texture instead of completely making is soupy
