Eating with my 23 month old is becoming an issue

I’m not sure if I should take her to the doctor but her appetite lately has literally gone down hill she use to eat big portions and out of no it’ll take a a hour maybe more to eat her favorite meals or she won’t eat through out the day and eat when it’s bed time. I’m not sure if this is a faze or what should I think??

Could she possibly be teething?? My daughter is 16 months and is teething and basically grazes food right now. I’m worried too but noticed she drinks more milk than usual so I hope that’s compensating!!

Yes Julie is probably right. Although I had the same problem with my now four year old when she was that age. I took her to the doctor and they said it's completely normal. She's been a weird eater until a couple months ago. For her it was just a long faze.

My daughter would literally chew the same bite of food for over an hour at times. She was an awful eater and it was extremely frustrating for me to be feeding her for an hour or so at a time. She just turned three and things are so much better now! She actually asks for food and tells me when she is hungry and will eat in a normal amount of time. Hang in there mama, it gets better! I would recommend talking to her doctor about it though, just to be on the safe side. You could probably just call though instead of having to take her into the office.

Kids go through these phases. Sometimes for a few weeks, and sometimes years at a time! Smh Lol

probably a phase if there are no other symptoms (more drooling, fever, cough, extra tired) My now 16 month old does this from time to time. Her doctor basically said if she isn't losing any weight then its normal

My 22 month old just started doing this a week or so ago. I had a hunch it was teething, and sure enough I was right! I forgot all about those second molars. Maybe that’s what’s going on with your little one?

It could be she was going through a growth spurt. If you become concerned about a lack of nutrition there are drinks like pediasure, I use Enfamil toddler premium grow and go.
