For those with preemie babies- did you find your baby reached developmental milestones according to their adjusted age or their actual birthdate? My baby was born at 36weeks 4 days.
My son was born at 34 weeks. 3lb a 6oz. He’s had no problem reaching developmental milestones. He’s in kindergarten, can read and write, ahead of the class. He’s also the tallest boy in class and very active.
My son is a 34 weeker as well, the six weeks hasn't had too much of an effect on his reaching his developemental milestones. He's hitting them all no problem, some earlier and some later, so I haven't had to adjust too much.
My daughter was 10 days posterm and is generally behind on all physical milestones (sitting up, crawling, and now walking). I sincerely believe it’s a very personal thing for each baby. My friend’s preemie, meanwhile, is miles ahead ;-)
Yeah I had my son at 32 wks 5 days and for the most part he has hit milestones on time. Every baby is different! I know it’s hard but try not to worry too much.
My friend & I were preggo at the same time, so I tend to compare my son with her daughter. My son was born at 36+5 and she was born at 39+something. She has been hitting her milestones right on time while my son is maybe a month behind!
My son was born at 33 weeks and I am happy to report that we’ve been blessed and he has hit all is milestones. In fact, he started walking at 10 months.
My baby was born at 32 weeks and I found that she was hitting her milestones based on her actual birth date but I also found she pushed herself a lot which made her exhausted at times. I started breastfeeding her at 33 weeks gestation age and she latched on real quick. Now that she is almost 40 weeks she is speeding up quicker. But I believe girls are quicker than boys.
My baby was born at 31 weeks and I reaching many milestones based on birthdate. However, some of them are aligned with his due date. So far no delays, just being lazy at walking ha!
