HELP! Teething 20mo old

My youngest is teething bad the past 2 days. Today tops it with lots of screaming and crying. He keeps pointing at his mouth and telling me it hurts. Im still breastfeeding, sometimes he lets go and cries. He had a fever. I already gave him motrin but it seems to not helping. I don't remember my first son being in this much pain like him. Any advice? Ps: baby orajel was recalled due to stopping breathing in children so thats not an option atm.

Try this. I look at reviews and a lot of moms saying it does help their kids to manage teething process. I bought it since I’m pre-prepare for my kid teething.

You could put pacifiers in the freezer as well.

I know. I never encountered this before with my oldest nor my siblings when they were younger. Hope it passes soon. Its 4 teeth coming at once.

With my son I wet a wash cloth and put it in the freezer and he loved it the textures on the towel can be very soothing to bite on along with it being cold

Ive found tylenol had helped my little one more than motrin. Same as above with cold foods or frozen stuff. We also have alot of teethers he can chew on but my finger seems to be a fav atm.

We have been told that teething hurts but in actuality, it doesn’t. In fact it itches really bad. Sort of like an allergy. So when my second son was teething g really bad, I bought infant allergy medication and gave him the smallest dosage allowed for his age. It gave him such huge relief. I only gave it him medicine about 2 times the entire time he was teething but it definitely helped for those bad days. If you’re willing to try it, I hope it helps your little guy. It’s sucks seeing them suffer.

Ibuprofen and tylenol you need to be switching it out so every 4 hour give him Tylenol and switch it and give him Motrin every for 4 to 5 hours my son has the same problem and he's just one and make sure you're giving him the correct mount for his weight in medicine cuz if you give him too little it will not help it won't break the fever and it he will still be in pain and make have some popsicles always if he's a cold teethers give him popsicles warm teethers you want to have like warm bottles or teething rings times even a toothbrush will help electric to us and it will feel good on his teeth there's actually do that but my son broke his

I believe Motrin works for 6-8 hours, and Tylenol for 4 hrs. It’s safe to give both together, they just need to be spaced a part so you don’t overload their liver. Ex: Motrin 8am Tylenol 9am Tylenol 1pm Motrin 2pm Tylenol 5pm Motrin 8pm We went to the ER for a super high fever. By themselves, they weren’t able to knock out her fever. But, together it was able to bring her fever back down to at least 100.

Thank you ladies. He doesn't like biting on teethers or frozen washcloths. So far just massaging him has helped better. 3 teeth have made their breakthrough & now the last one is barely getting through and i have been massaging it and he seems much happier. I was massaging him every so often but now i have been doing it every 20 minutes or on demand. I washed my hands in Hot water so they are warm while i do the massages. Thank you for all the advice i felt lost since he was crying so much and i ran out of ideas earlier. :) lets hope tomorrow is a better day for him.

I'm not trying to be a jerk but the orajel is recalled because of the benzocaine causing low blood oxygen levels. My points are: pay attention to things that may have benzocaine (pain killers mostly) and low blood oxygen levels doesn't mean "stopping breathing" it means that a child <2 yrs may have a reaction where their body doesn't process the oxygen they breathe. Thank you. I just wanted to make sure everyone knew why it was recalled and what to watch out for.

Yeah there is all natural teething gels that helps I use the one with fruit on it it helps a lot I always check everything frist before I give it to my son like I has to have ingredients that I can read and I know must only have 7 or less ingredients if it has more or I can't read it or I don't know what it is it's not coming home with us

I found frozen fruit in the mesh for my daughter to help her. She is not only getting a snack but the cold helps ease the pain
