My son will be starting daycare soon it will be 8 hours a day how many oz if breastmilk should I bring in?
If he is also getting some solid food at the daycare I would pack 3 bottles at 3 or 4 Oz each. He may need less but start with that.
1oz per hour
At 11 months my daughter drank very little and was all about food!! So it really depends on your child. Don’t worry about these “rules,” they mean nothing....you know yoiebbaby best.
At 11 months I sent in 4 bottles with 5 oz of breastmilk each. She never got to the 4th bottle and usually didn’t get to the third. She also drank water from a sippy throughout the day and the daycare would refill it as needed.
I always overpacked her bottles back then because I was afraid she would get hungry.
Think about how many times he breastfeeds during the day. Then fill up a bottle for each time he breastfeeds. For example, my baby who is six weeks old breastfeeds every 1 -2 houses so I filled 5 bottles with 4 oz of Breastmilk. He drank three but I still take the 4th and a fifth just in case. I don’t know how many oz he actually drinks from the breast but they told me he drank all of the milk in the three bottles that he had. So if your baby is older he may need less bottles with more milk in them. You could try 5 bottles with 4 oz like me or 3 big bottles with 6oz or more.
Mine drinks about 30 oz he’s 10 mo
In a whole day
Alot has to do with their weight and how much food they eat. Alejandra has a good idea about how many times you breast feed in that time frame and do that plus an extra. My baby is on the smaller side and has about 20oz of milk and 10oz of food and hes 8 months. Also mines formula fed so ozs will be diff than breastfed.
