I'm trying to get my 1 year one to sleep in his crib, Any tips on getting him to sleep in crib?

Start with naps. What is the current situation with his sleep? Do you have to do certain things to get him to sleep? Try to set up a routine. When we moved my son to the crib at 9 months I had to be laying next to him, stroking his head and patting his bottom. So we started with putting him in the crib and me sitting next to the crib, stroking his hair and patting his bottom. Then slowly I stopped the physical contact and brought in a white noise machine. He seemed to like a running stream noise. I still sat next to his crib and watched him. Eventually I was just sitting by the crib not making eye contact. Then eventually I started to inch the chair further and further away from the crib. When I finally got to the point where I had to leave the room, he did cry. But not for long.. 10 min at most maybe. Then we did CIO for bed.. which turned out to be fine because he was already used to the crib. He did cry, but by the third night he was fine. With the white noise machine, I let him push the button to turn it on now. So when I tell him it’s nap or bed time he will run to his room and push the button. Then put his arms up so I can put him in the crib.

Okay thanks! When I lay him down for his naps it's in his swing and then for bedtime he sleeps with me. It's been really hard to get him in the crib. He hates it so much!
