Is this normal?

My son is 2.5 and he loves kissing anything and anyone. My husband and I obviously shower him with kisses and ask for as many as we can get! BUT now my son will kiss anything, like his stuffed animals, dolls, our dog and cat, and just today tried to kiss a little girl at the park on the lips! The thing is, my son is non-verbal and I’m thinking since he has grown up not going to daycare (and only being around family members who he kisses daily), he sees that as something that he can can that will make anyone smile. But then I thought, what if this is just a normal stage? Do any other boys do this at an early age?

We have a girl and she is a kisser. She will kiss anything and everything; toys, books, stuffed animals etc. I’m also afraid she’s gonna get germs. My husband and I always wonder if she would do that at daycare 🤷🏻‍♀️. Hopefully, it’s a phase and it’ll pass soon. She’s almost 17 months.

I think he’s at an age where you can teach him to ask (and to say no if he doesn’t want kisses). Model for him by asking before you kiss him, and having him ask you. Say no sometimes so that you can show him to give a high five or something instead.

My daughter will be 2 next month, and she is the same way. She once kissed a little boy in the dr office (I know yuck, thankfully they both weren’t sick, just in for wellness check). But she has grown out of kisses random people, but still kisses her dolls, the dogs, and her books.

My daughter is 19mo and kisses everything. We went to a goat snuggle event last weekend and she kissed every one of them.
