Looking for a (non wrap) baby carrier that is super supportive for my back and shoulders. Any recommendations? I have the Infantino 4 in 1 and while I love it, now that my baby is getting heavier, Im looking for a more supportive one!

Lillebaby! I have mild scoliosis and have always suffered from back pain. The lillebaby back support pad is awesome for me. I used a baby Bjorn in the past when I worked as a nanny and it killed my back.

Haven't tried the lillebaby, but love our Beco. The straps cross in the back for support and that makes them way easier to snap than carriers like the Ergo where you have to reach behind your back.

I would check at outdoor /camping supply stores for packs used for hiking, they're usually super supportive

The other nice thing about the Lille baby is it has a higher baby weigh limit than most others.

Ok you guys sold me on the lillebaby! Thank you! And the back support does look amazing. There seems to be a few different styles, was thinking of this one so I can use in the summer too. What do you lillebaby fans think?

I had that one and felt like it was too warm because it had multiple layers even though it’s suppose to be cooler. I like the organic, embossed, or airflow. Organic and embossed have very breathable fabric and the airflow is mesh. Sometimes the airflow hurts the legs of the little ones because of the mesh. If you go to the lillebaby fb Page they are doing a bunch of Easter giveaways!

Tana- thanks so much for the insight! Hmm makes sense about the airflow, and if i use it in the summer, my baby will have bare legs resting on the mesh. Im thinking the embossed now since its breathable and looks comfy and pretty to boot. Thank you so much ❤️

We have the complete all season. I never noticed an issue in the summer. And I usually did not unzip the front panel for the mesh/airflow. But I also live in the PNW and it’s not super hot here that much. If you buy from buy buy baby, you should be able to use a 20% coupon too. We did back in 2015.

I forgot to mention that like everything, there’s a group for baby wearing called baby wearing international. I chose my carrier by going to a chapter meeting with my baby and trying on all the ones they had in their library. They had all the ones people mentioned here (and tons of others) and I tried all of them with my baby and ended up with the all seasons Lille baby. The ones for hotter weather seemed uncomfortable and like it would be rough on her bare skin. In any case, you can check and see if your local chapter has a decent library and you can try some on too. It’s free!! Babywearinginternational.org

I have the Complete airflow- living in Southern California and being hot blooded it was the right choice for us. The embossed one looks really nice too though!

Adding in- Sakura Bloom Onbuhimo is fantastic. Out of my carriers, it puts the least amount of pressure on my back.

I also love my mesh Lillebaby. I want to add that the best thing for my back was to wear baby on my back.

i have a complete all-seasons and an embossed lillebaby and embossed is definitely lighter. i don’t think the zip panel makes much of a difference. but i wouldn’t use the lillebaby if it was hot (like 85F+), i’d go with my linen ring sling, short woven wrap, or onbuhimo or podaegi. i front wear my 27lb one year old for 2-3 hours at a time with no real complaints. also i second the BWI meetups - if your local group has a substantial library, you can actually take it home and try it out before committing to buying one!

Lillebaby Airflow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had the Ergo, which I liked for the comfortability factor, but it was so freaking hot! I'm talking, in the "winter" (it's Florida lol), inside in the air conditioner, me and baby were so hot and sweaty. I exchanged it for the Lillebaby Airflow, and life has just been a little more perfect ever since. The lumbar support is way better than the Ergo, and overall, it is so much less hot. We are theme park junkies and overall outdoor lovers, and neither me nor baby ever gets overheated. They also have the All Seasons, with a zipper section you can zip up or down for some mesh airflow room, but I wanted the ENTIRE thing to be mesh. This state is too hot 99% of the time - that ONE cold day, I'll just put him in an extra layer lol. Btw, my LO is 6 months old.

We love our babybjorn baby carrier one outdoors (super long name) has been amazing. Easy for my husband and I to wear it and adjust it. Our little guy is comfy in it and hasn’t thrown a fit when he’s in it. Mostly naps in it or looks around happy to see the world. https://www.babybjorn.com/baby-carriers/baby-carrier-one-outdoors/

Ergo is the bomb dot com! Try to get one at a local mommy sale or on eBay if cost is prohibitive! We used ours until ours were well past 2!
