Makeup or Not?

My daughter is starting the 6th grade next week, she asked me today if she can get some makeup? My first thought was yes, finally something we might bond over that I know since I don’t know sports but then. Is she to young what to start off with, does make up make her more noticeable and attractive to boys (don’t want that) or should I be more worried about her skin since I use make up but not that much more of a natural look. What should I start her off with ? and no lip gloss is a given.

No I started in 6th grade my grandma (whom I lived with at the time) helped me with the basics my aunt tried to help and my mom and me would play with it when I started living with her it's good to start around then too cause I feel personally that it builds the love for it and it does help as a bonding factor between mother and child

Wish I was skilled enough to show my girls how to put on make up. When I try I end up looking like Tammy Faye Baker!!

In our house we’re waiting until hs. Makeup is an accessory NOT necessary.

I think 6th grade is a little early personally...but I'm old school. I prefer natural beauty. If you do start her, maybe just start with some gloss and a little blush or something. Keep it simple.

I bought my 7th grader tinted moisturizer but that’s it.

That's what I was thinking basic. I told her no foundation nor mascara but we can do lip gloss and some brown eye liner. I tryed to show her today and Thank God she was to scared to pock her eye. So we are sticking to lips gloss and Shea butter to Moisturizes her skin. She did love the nude eye shadow so I told her only at home but at school none.

I have to make sure mine wears sunscreen everyday so the moisturizer helps her remember. She would come home sunburned from pe being outside.

My daughter and I bought her makeup when she was starting sixth grade. I think she thought a lot of girls would be wearing it. We bought very natural colors. She used very little and before long didn’t even bother because not many others were but she had fun learning.
