Mucus poops causing diaper rash. It’s like his 3rd one last 2 months maybe

So like my 1 1/2 yr old son keeps getting I guess tan yellow mucus poops ( it looks slimy) and then next thing he gets a bad diaper rash. How many is too many? I don’t want to call his doc if I’m just a a freak out FTM. I always jump to the worst sometimes when it really isn’t. it’s just weird that it’s maybe like his third time getting this in last 2 months? Honestly I feel like he gets this once a month idk honestly I feel like always dealing with this that I just cant remember. Any tips or ideas on why???

So I have no prob being the freak out mom. My daughter had this when she was around 8 weeks old and I had her seen and it ended up being a cows milk intolerance. I had to eliminate all cow dairy from my diet for her first year, then I slowly reintroduced. She’s okay with dairy now and is making up for lost time with cheese, ha. If you want to wait it out, start a food diary. It’s likely something he’s eating. But it can also be teething. When my daughter teethes she gets lots of extra mucus which she swallows and it comes out in her diapers.

My son gets “mucas” poops when he’s teething. I read somewhere that extra saliva from teething can cause that funky texture.... maybe that’s the case for you too

Extra saliva from teething or colds. Just be sure to wash it immediately, completely dry, and put diaper cream.

The doctor thinks it from teething she said since it’s not blistering it’s ok. If it does then he could have a yeast infection so we keeping a eye on it. She gave me a butt paste cocktail that I need to go buy the stuff for so hope it just clears up

We had this struggle and ended up needing to use the stuff they use for athletes feet because the loose stools would cause infections so bad he would say they hurt. Also you can try Vaseline as a barrier might help keep the skin dry. Teething also caused ours when the two year molars came in but no other time. It got bad enough the doctor tested a stool sample. Oh and the doctor said when it was really bad to wipe him and then use a blow dryer to keep everything really dry.

My son is going through this now and a mom friend told me it's "teething poops." They're apparently really acidic and cause the diaper rash.
