My 3 year old suddenly doesn’t know the letter A.

I’m a stay at home mom for now and for a few months now, and even when she was in daycare she knew the letter A. I would randomly ask her what letter it was and she would answer correctly. All of a sudden a few days back, Ive been asking her and she would say B or 1 or 2. And sometime I don’t know. It so weird to me since she would always answer correctly. I’m kinda worried because she looks like she really doesn’t know anymore. Specially since she knows that’s the first letter of her name. Should I be worried?

I wouldnt be. It's kinda like being picky. One day they like something/know something the next they dont and back and forth. Shell remember.

She may be learning more letters/numbers at school which could be causing confusion. She will get it. She is only 3. Focus on her social-emotional knowledge and learning through play. She has her whole life for letters

I agree w/ Jackie. Or she could be playing around. My daughter knows most of her letters and at least one word associated with each. So last night in the tub I held up a foam H and said, “what’s this letter?” She looked up and smirked and said, “B is for Baby!” Then after lots of discussion she finally conceded that H is for Horse.
