My baby is 6 months old and I was wondering if anyone has some simple recipes that I can make to feed her? I’m breastfeeding exclusively, but my husband and I have given her a few things to try such as mashed bananas and avocados.

I would steam frozen fruits & vegetables in the microwave and then blitz them in a Magic Bullet blender. Easy and fast! Favorites were sweet potato, cauliflower, and carrot.

My son loves savory over sweet—- we make beef stew and blend some for him. He CHOWS. His other favorite combos are chicken/broccoli/pear— sweet potato/apple/lentil—- and banana/avocado/kiwi.

My son loves butternut squash, sweet potatoes, carrots, bananas & oatmeal. The beaba is the best! It steams and blends and is so great!!!

My baby loves cucumber and zucchini sticks! I leave the skin on so one side is soft but she can grab them easily. (I obviously cook the zucchini first.) She’s also loved steamed carrots, sweet potatoes, and cut-up salmon!

This book is a favorite of mine. We still make my 17month old thick mushy purées. He really enjoys them! Little Foodie: Baby Food Recipes for Babies and Toddlers with Taste

Thank you everyone so much for your suggestions! I also want to know, do you add some breast milk to the blender to make the consistent smoother?

We feed ours whatever we’re having. It’s a lot more relaxing not worrying about making special food for baby. If it seems too risky I just purée her portion up but otherwise I just let her pick up the pieces and eat them.

Sweet potatoes, squash, carrots, peas, basically anything you see on a baby food jar can be bought as produce, washed, cooked, and mashed or puréed into baby food. We shocked our family one time because we were feeding our 1yo directly from a cooked sweet potato, and he was chowing down.
