My husband and I are getting ready for a trip with my 2.5 year old daughter.

We are debating between a direct flight or one with a stop, the flight is 5.5 hour. Do you guys have any recommendations and tips? We'll have snacks and the iPad with headphones for her.

Does the one stop break the flight evenly in half? Or is it one of those flights where you’re in the air for an hour and then 4.5 hrs for the next leg? For us, we will always opt for the one stop at the halfway point. Our son is just too restless. If we can’t get a stop at the halfway point then I would just suck it up and do a direct flight.

Direct all the way. It adds so much time with stops, and more possibilities of delays. Direct.

and also I literally just got off a plane with my 2.5 year old and she loved using reusable stickers (we have Melissa and Doug ones). For that long a flight I bring books, a few toys, etc.

I've only ever been iny three hour flights when the gang here were that age, but found it a big help was letting the kids get up and roam the plane occasionally. I'd probably go nonstop if I could, but switching planes once again gives the kids a chance to move around, so it might be worth it, especially if it helps with anything else like ticket price.

Thank you for answering to this post! We got direct flights. I think that will work for us, crossing fingers. 😉
