No one to watch 2yo

Anonymous

Im basically a single mom with no family around, I’ve never let anyone watch my toddler. If I go into labor will the hospital allow my toddler to stay in the delivery room or do hospitals have childcare centers? Will the hospital allow her to stay overnight with me?

every hospital is different but I would guess they would not allow a 2 yo in the delivery room. some hospitals do have childcare available during birth but you have to inquire early, you'll have to ask the hospital. If you are worried, maybe there are support services in your area for single moms that can help with this? Maybe the hospital can recommend something. I recommend reaching out to the hospital right away, they should be able to answer your questions or provide referrals to other options. good luck <3

I’d be shocked if they let her stay overnight. Can family come visit? The father help?

Family cannot come unfortunately. I was hoping not having to rely on him, he’s terrible.

If u have time, look for someone u and ur kiddo can get comfortable with. Even if ur kiddo is allowed in the room; it’ll be better for someone to look after her so u can focus on having a safe delivery without having to divide ur attention and energy two different things.
