Ok my son will be 2 in January. Won't use a cup.

I have tried everything to get him off the bottle. I have bought 27 different types of sippy cups and have even tried just a plastic cup. Sports bottles and straw cups as well. He absolutely refuses. He will throw them, scream, cry, and just all around have a fit. And will go all day without drinking anything until I give him a bottle. Any advice?

I used the “Nuby 3 stage grow with me cup” to get my daughter onto a sippy cup. It comes with a bottle nipple that we used first to get her used to the cup and handles and then switched to the sippy cup nipple once she was used to the cup. Good luck!

Have you tried only putting water in his bottle? Then offering a cup of his favorite drink like juice or chocolate milk?

I've tried both of those. He won't even try the cups. I even tried getting two of the exact same and giving him one and me using one all day. He still didn't even try :(

If he’s refusing water w/o the bottle just let him have the bottle........it’s not worth the headache. He WILL grow out of it. What worked for us was was finding a clear transitional cup (Born Free Breeze) and basically tricking my son into using it because he liked that it was clear (like his bottles) and that we could still warm up milk in it (unlike insulated cups). Once he got used to not “sucking” it was only a few weeks until he’d use any cup we put his beverages in.

For my daughter it depends on what kind of cup it is she prefers the rubber top ones and some the no spill cups check and see if he’s drink and chewing on the nipple it might just be because of texture

Stay consistent. If you keep giving it back he knows that sooner or later his fit will get him his way and that will be very bad for you from now on. First make sure he can drink out of a cup or sippy then get rid of all the bottles. (Out of sight out of mind) he will drink when he is thirsty. If you cave b4 him, he wins.
