Only 2 teeth at 20 months old?!

Anyone else have babies that took a long time to get teeth? He got his two front top teeth many months ago and no sign of any other teeth since. My dentist told me not to worry until he’s 2, but we’re getting closer and closer to his 2nd birthday, so I’m starting to worry a bit. Anyone else had a similar experience with their little one?

If the dentist isn’t worried you shouldn’t be. Don’t worry about them not coming in. Just prepare yourself because he will have several all coming in at the same time and that won’t be fun for any of you. Buy stock in Motrin. :)

Ours didn't get her first tooth until 14 months old. It's good to get teeth later, less time for them to rot.

I wouldn’t worry about it unless the dentist say so. The later they come in the better the teeth usually are. Like T said though, prepare yourself for rough times. When they start coming, they’ll probably all be at once. Cheap and healthy option for soothing: ground cloves!! It has a quick numbing affect. (Try it yourself. Only a tiny bit on the tip of your finger.) Better than Orajel, which I’ve now heard hardens the gums, making it worse in the long run. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Just turned 15 months today and she just had a tooth break though the skin like a week ago (finally!). Our paediatrician said late teethers sometimes are late puberty-ers lol

Orajel can also numb the throat, so the gag reflex doesn’t work as well or at all and that’s a problem if they chock. Frozen: peas, corn kernels, blueberries, cherries and raspberries sooth the gums too. Motrin at night.

For teething I made my own cove oil (seeped cloves in olive oil), which my son didn't like, and also chamomile oil (chamomile tea seeped in olive oil) which he liked a lot better.
