Potty training

Hi ladies, my son is going to be 2 in February and constantly takes his diaper off but won’t sit long enough to go on the potty... is it time for pull-ups? And what is the difference from a diaper and a pull up? Can he still pee and poop in a pull-up? Also... how do you know when it’s time to sit them on the potty if they can’t tell you ?

Definatly pull ups they can pop and pe in them but of he is capable of pulling it down you should do them.because he'll know how undies work in the future. He he can't tell you you could take him to the potty 15 minutes after drinks and food make him understand that's what you do to pee and poop

Bare butt is stressful but they learn to go easier that way. just put the potty in whatever room your in and show him where it is and what it’s used for. I was able to train my daughter in 3 days doing that but I did have a lot of accidents to clean up lol.

@kala never heard of the bare butt I'll keep it in mind that's a good idea too if you dont have carpets in the hole house

I thought my 19mnth was ready for pull ups. i didn’t realize that they don’t open on the side when u need to clean up poop so my son would end up needing a bath if we tried taking them off post poo. just something to remember. Unlike pull ups when I put him in real undies like tinyundies its not that messy- maybe because it doesn’t absorb stuff ... don’t know.

Pull ups are the same as a diaper. Don’t use for potty training. They will not get a wet sensation like if they pee in undies. In the beginning of potty training you take them every 30 minutes.

Pulls and diapers are the SAME thing. Not useful at all for potty training. At home let him go naked until you both figure out the senses (& signals) for when he has to potty. Buy a little potty and stick it wherever you can contain him (living room, play room) wherever he’ll sit for a few mins at a time. Read books on the potty or sing songs. When he goes in the potty you celebrate like CRAZY to get the point across that that is the behavior you want. My son wasn’t talking when we started (22 months) but learned to say “pee” within a few days and “poo” within a week or two.

Let him sit on the potty for one day with his clothes on. Next day u can have pull up down so they can get used to it being cold. Lots of kids don’t like them cuz they too cold for they butt. Give lots of water. Just work on peeing first. Don’t worry about poop.
