Question regarding ultrasound pic posted within post

Anonymous

So I have 4 children (2 of each)and one on the way. My boys both have disabilities and they are very difficult to handle at times. My youngest son is 3.5 yrs old and has ADHD, sensory issues and has a violent temper. He’s very aggressive at times and he receives a lot of services and help (he’s doing better than prior to services). Anyways I saw my ob and he is about to retire he’s about 84 years old and he has a SUPER OLD ultrasound machine from like 1980s and uses it to get baby’s heartbeat 💗 well I’m 19 weeks and I told him I haven’t had any anatomy scans or measurements scans and no one could tell me the gender of the baby. I asked if he could tell me with the old machine he has and he said it looks like a boy to him and then gave me a date to go have an ultrasound done at an up to date office with an actual ultrasound tech. I’m great with a healthy baby either way but odds are if I am having a boy he too will have disabilities and that hurts my heart for him. Could the read be wrong. He didn’t look at it long or wait for baby to turn or move just said it’s a boy. Or looks like a boy and I think he might not have looked at the picture and just said the cord is a penis? This is exactly what he saw. Nothing more nothing less. Baby is facing the pic. I can see eyes nose ear and fingers or the tips of fingers and the white I think is umbilical cord? Does anyone have any experience reading these? Let me add I absolutely adore my boys I have and love them so much and I’m grateful to even have children as I was told many times I would never be able to have my own children and I always wanted a huge family as long as I can afford to do so. I’m lucky in that manner to be blessed with both children and financial abilities to care for them. Thanks for looking and giving your advice and opinions. 💗

I can’t tell by looking, with my daughter they could have told me she was an alien and I would have believed them 😂 if you don’t want to wait, there are special ultrasound places that look for just the gender. I’m not sure where you are located, but one I am thinking about visiting is called the Baby Connection and for the basic gender package it costs $40. Just an option, and I wish you the best of luck, you sound like a great momma! 💞

You can get blood tests done at 9 weeks and up that tell you the gender, it also tests for other things as well. I would get another Obgyn.....there are so many new tests and things...

I’m not an ultrasound tech, but my friend is. She said she doesn’t see anything boy related in this picture just a belly, brain and heart. We both agreed it’s a terrible scan neither of us see the profile. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy!
