First time mommy and first road trip about 8 hour drive with my 6 month old to SoCal. A bit nervous.. any tips, advice, and recommendations? (We plan to leave at night so Little one can sleep)
We do this trip often. We normally only make one stop about halfway for food as we normally start our trip during Naptime. But over night should be even easier. The only thing I can suggest is light up toys, as my son hated waking up in the car when it was dark and always found comfort in a little light. Also, I always bring a blanket buddy or something that is familiar to home to comfort him. I hope you have a smooth ride south!
I was always nervous about this and was worried about where and how often I should change them. Really stopping once on the 5 was perfect but nearly full diaper on arrival. Maybe stop one more time if you don’t want to risk a leak. All you really need is great classical music for their growing brains to take in and I think it keeps them think busy with the structure of the song. The one thing I never got and kept forgetting was a blind for the side of the car with the bright sun! The more you travel with them young- they will become great travelers! Have a safe trip!!
Put extra diaper down in car seat. You don’t want a blow out and then her to sit in it the rest of the trip
Thank you all for your advice super helpful and Reassuring!😊
