Snack time

Anonymous

Any ideas of good healthy snacks for little ones. My little girl is a year and a half and has a appetite something fierce she eats non stop and even more when she goes through a growth spurt which she is now and I don’t want to fill her on junk I don’t really do puffs or snacks like that since they don’t really have any nutritional value I give her dried fruit but sometimes she has a heard time eating them string cheese and fruit like bananas and pears but I’m kinda stumped on giving her a variety

My little one loves fruit cups, carrots dipped in mashed avocado, toast with avocado and tomatoes, kale chips, apple sauce, yogurt, veggie omelets, fruit smoothies, and oatmeal to name a few. I’m trying to get him to eat more healthy options since he loves snacking and these are what have worked so far!

I just tried fruit snacks today ... and she liked them! I know they aren’t the healthiest, but better than the bag of chips she wanted. She also likes fruit cups as well, bananas, yogurt, applesauce, pickles and olives, cheese chunks, graham crackers or even dry cereal

I do sliced apples with a sprinkle of cinnamon or give her some nuts that small enough for her to handle ( not whole) sometimes I do peanut butter and bananas. These tend to be filling and nutritional.

My son is on a goats yogurt with frozen blueberries kick. I add hemp seeds for protein and omega 3s as well as some chia seeds. He loves eating cucumber sticks and I make him smoothies with fruits and veggies

Muffins. You can pretty much add whatever veggie or fruit to a muffin that you want. I do Monster muffins which I load with puréed greens like spinach or kale, banana and applesauce

My two year old loves pretzel rods. The thick ones. I know it's not really "healthy" but better than candy and cookies
