Standing to Pee
My son turned 3 at the beginning of March. He has been potty trained since around then and has been doing really good with it. Now all of a sudden he will only pee if he is standing. While I know this will come eventually right now it is making a mess. Any tips on how to get him to sit down or to help his aim?
Cheerios or toilet paper to aim at? I tell mine he can't stand if he can't keep it in the toilet
Anon, I tell my husband the same thing...
We did Cheerios, toilet paper targets, & had him practice in the shower aiming at different spots. Sometimes sitting to urinate is uncomfortable for males, but I’m sure with practice he’ll do much better.

So not that this is helpful in any way but my 21 month old now tries to stand to pee as well because she saw her daddy do it. She also doesn’t understand why mommy can’t stand to pee with her. Lol.
I am going to try these ideas. Thank you!
In case the girls & women would like to try it: https://m.wikihow.com/Urinate-Standing-Up-as-a-Female This is handy during camping trips!
A friend told me she took hers outside. She said it was much easier having him aim at a rock or bush then cleaning up pee all the time + she figured hell with it since most boys and some men choose to pee outside anyways. But it does seem to be a decent learning tool at least until they get the aiming part down
