Taking baby food internationally?

I’m about to travel internationally with my almost 10 month old and we are taking a lot of prepackaged baby food. is this a good idea? it is a lot of weight! trying to mitigate any potential stomach issues by giving him food he is familiar with. Also taking my own formula since i just don’t know what to expect.

Don’t know the right answer, but I would probably do the same if it were me!

Where are you going? I think that would influence my answer!

Honestly if being the formula and a little baby food. As long as something isn’t to spicy hot, it shouldn’t cause tummy issues. Just make sure no honey and that everything is cooked throughly and you could just give your child small pieces of what you are eating.

Unless you are going somewhere remote you really don’t need to pack a lot of pre packaged baby food. You can get everything there! I have been to the UK with my 13 months old twice since she was born. I took formula and baby food for the flight and everything else I bought there. Again I would say it all depends WHERE you are traveling to

Definitely depends where you're traveling to. If it's the developed world then I would just make sure there's a supermarket you'll have access to and that they sell baby food there. Europe, for example, has really good formula (I actually ship formula from there because it's healthier) and I think most of Europe has baby food that's very similar to what we use here.

We went to Italy last year and I brought some food but most cities had stuff we could do with. Yogurt, apple sauce, bananas mushed, soft pastas, oatmeal. I wouldn’t waste space with a ton of baby food

My baby was super picky about her formula and HATED when I had to change it in the tiniest way, so I would bring formula but not be as worried about the food (depending on where you’re traveling to, of course).

Can I add also that I find the selection of baby food in the USA really poor. In the UK there is a TON of good baby food in the supermarkets, great variety and also snacks are way better

if there are human babies at your destination country I wouldn’t pack more than a little formula. Buy everything local and feed what babies there eat. fresh and nutritious

We’ve been to Europe twice with our oldest when he was an infant and toddler- first time we packed everything, second time we packed just enough for the plane! Everyone is right, you can get all big brand name formulas anywhere and can get all other food and supplies there as well!
