Teeth brushing

How did you introduce brushing teeth routine? What products worked the best for you? My daughter is 17 months old and has 6 teeth. We haven’t established a teeth brushing routine, but think it’s probably a good time to do so, especially since she has a bottle of milk right before bed.

It is definitely past time... brush once in morning and once at night before bed. I do my lo in the bath and at first let her chew on the brush in the morning, but now she lets me brush them then too. Adding a song is awesome, like brush your teeth from little baby bum. That's what I've sung to her since 6 months and now she opens up when she hears it. I don't know if yours has been to the dentist yet but I would definitely schedule an appointment.

My 7 month old has been using his tooth brush since 4 months. He wanted to copy me when I was brushing my teeth. So now every morning he gets his brush while I brush my teeth and then I brush his one tooth after I’m done. I use a training toothpaste with him to get him use to a taste and texture too. I would just let her see you do it and let her copy a bit.

Brush your teeth with her! Show/model what behavoir you want from baby -- they're natural mimmicks at this age! Your brush in your hand, her brush in hers. Brush your teeth, and encourage her to brush hers! This is what we do with our kid, started at 7 mo.

Mine is 21 months old and I hold her hand and I show her will I'm holding her toothbrush in her hand and we try to make it fun. When she turns 2 then I'll let her attempt to let her learn by herself
