Tired mama

So for the past weeks my daughter (2) has been waking up at around 2am crying hysterically and will not stop or go back to bed, it takes us about an hour or so to calm her down and get her in bed.... any suggestions????

Teething? Are her molars or canines coming in? They were the hardest for my daughter and it went on forever...children’s ibuprofen or acetaminophen would help most nights.

Could it be night terrors? Can you catch it early and just cuddle with her until she goes back to sleep?

Hi Daniela. Besides teething, it may be a tummy ache., or gas. My daughter is 14 months old. So when she can’t go to sleep, we start with teething medicine to soothe her. If she stills cries and is not able to go back to sleep. Our second option is already figuring it out if food change or different was given to her, during day. And most likely option 2, along with teething, triggers her not able let her sleep comfortable. I hope this helps.

Try offering a half banana or piece of toast. Sometimes when my daughter wakes up crying, its because she hit a growth spurt and is hungry even though she had a good dinner. A half a slice of bread and some water is enough to help her go back to sleep and stay asleep until morning and breakfast. Teething and a lost stuffed animal have also been reasons for waking.
