Too much formula?

Anonymous

My son will be 2 months on Christmas and currently has 3oz every 3 hours. He just doesn't seem full or content anymore. My sister says I can do 4oz but would that just be too much?

I have never formula fed so could be totally wrong, but with breast milk I just fed until they were full. I never measured how much they were taking in

It's possible that your baby is going through a growth spurt. Like many things in parenting, it's worth giving something a shot and if it works then continue and if it doesn't then try something else.

Well I decided to try it. Started yesterday evening and during the night he was able to sleep longer. He ended up feeding 4oz every 4hrs. He's very punctual 😂 I'm gonna try it during the day and see how he does.

Good! If he spits up a lot (or more) then maybe cut back a little. But that’s really the only way you will know if it’s too much.

I formula fed both my boys and just increased their bottles by half an ounce when it seemed that they were still hungry after their bottle or couldn't make it the 2hrs between. If it's too much for them, they will spit it back up and you will know that they aren't ready for an increase.
