Toothbrushing help!!!

My 2 year old refuses to brush his teeth and when I do it for him it’s a screaming wrestling match! Any suggestions? We bought him an electric toothbrush thinking that might help get him excited, but all he wants to do is play with it.

Have you tried the Elmo brush your teeth song?

Hey fellow momma! With my littles they get 'candy' (vitamin bear gummies) half each time for brushing their teeth. They get their vitamins and they enjoy having their teeth brushed and enjoy brushing their own. It's worked great for us!

I think it just is what it is, honestly. With age they learn how to do it and it gets easier. My oldest we had to hold him down. Now that he is 3 1/2 he lets us do it first, then we let him do the rest by himself. Everyone is happy now. Some days he still doesn’t want to but hey, that’s kids for ya! My 19 month old just wants to do it himself. I just put his back against my legs so I can bend over him while he is standing and hold his hands so I can brush. He screams but stops as soon as I’m done and I let him brush. This too shall pass.

With my little one me and my husband will brush our teeth with her. We brush her teeth for her and then let her do it herself. Hope this helps! Also if he has an favorite characters from a show, you might try getting a cheap toothbrush with that character on it 😊
