Transitioning to cows milk

My little guy will be 1 year old in 2 weeks. When & how is the best way to introduce cows milk to him?

I put mine on goats milk instead and she had it from birth along with breast milk. I used an amish recipe to make the goat milk into a formula

To transition we mixed it with formula or breast milk. Start putting it in sippy cups from the beginning, we used bottles for too long and now she fights us with taking milk from anything other than a bottle.

I would just give my son a sippy cup half way full once a day to help his stomach adjust to it first and it helped but soon found out he can’t have dairy so we stopped giving it to him

I used to do half milk half formula then would start decreasing the formula. My son never gave me an issue with it so formula was gone within a month

We went cold turkey to Milk in a 360 cup since they really aren’t supposed to have bottles after age 1.

We also just switched cold turkey without any gradual transition. We offer in sippy cups for meals and then still do a night time sippy before bed. We never noticed any issues with switching but every baby is different!!

We took our time switching. Started out doing an 8 oz bottle with 6 of formula and 2 of milk. I gradually upped the milk- it took 3 or 4 weeks to switch completely. It might’ve been me being extra cautious, but when she was younger, we switched formulas and had to go slow cause it messed her up. So I didn’t want to chance it. Also, it doesn’t have to be in a sippy cup. At 12 months, we were still having 3-4 bottles a day. Now we have two bottles at 15 months, one when she first wakes up and then before she goes to bed at night. Each is 8 oz. She has a sippy at lunch with milk. No problems with our milk and she eats three meals and a snack. Some days she doesn’t want to eat much so it makes me feel good that she drinks her milk. Our pediatrician has no problem with what we’re doing. Ever baby and family is different. But I would say don’t switch cold turkey. Some kids can handle it but some can’t. Easier to take a couple weeks in my opinion.

We just made the switch all at once at a year and it went smoothly.

I also transitioned slowly over the course of a month, ounce by ounce. I started with my son when he was 11 months old and he didn’t get a full bottle of milk till he was a year old. Once on the milk, then we switched cold turkey to the 360 sippy cup. We tried other styles and he hated all of the spout ones!

I introduced milk 2 weeks before her birthday. Her doctor said 11.5 months was okay and we were out of formula so I just did it cold turkey.

Introducing it slowly by mixing it with what hes used to. ex: 25% new milk, 75% his milk and gradually increase the new milk ratio. This helped with my kiddo.
