Trying to wean off breast milk

Anonymous

I am trying to wean my 14 month old from breast feeding. I over produce and I would have to pump 4 times a day but I now I slowed it down by once a day but my son still feeds. I want to stop because he is easily distracted and bites on my nipples hard to a point where I cry. I have already been back at work.

Does he take a bottle or sippy cup by any chance ?

During the day when he wants to feed, distract with a toy or snack or drink. He will forget soon enough.

@bianca he does take the bottle, but only when I’m at work or not home. I work nights in a hospital and the moment I come home he wants the boob

Yeah so I’d just redirect him once he wants the boob , distract him with something else or just feed him something . He will get a little cranky but do not give in . Once you give in you’re going back , so stick with it and it’ll be over once you know it

I always recommend kellymom.com for breastfeeding issues. Distraction is common at this age.

Mine first bit me at 8 months... flicker her cheek once and said no. and she’s never done it since. 😳
