Until how old is it ok for a child to be naked in public?

Anonymous

Going to a community festival that will just have portable toilets. Not a fan of those and definitely don’t want to take my 2.5 yr old inside when he has to touch everything in sight. I have the OXO 2 in 1 potty seat that I’m just planning on setting up with a plastic bag away from crowded places. Is it considered public indecency if I were to set up my son on a potty like that without closed doors? What if he has an accident and I need to just strip him down to get him changed? I know it wasn’t a big deal changing a child’s diaper out in the open (though I always did it so fast to avoid people watching). Is this the same thing where you just do what you have to do or is it different now that my son is potty trained? I won’t have a car to use for a bit of privacy, just a stroller that I can use to block him off from view. I’m still wondering if I would get in trouble if we can’t avoid being seen.

I personally think kids 5 and under have a free pass to lose the clothes and use a folding potty when needed. I'd only use the stroller to block the view so that the kid doesn't get too distracted, but I wouldn't give a flip about what other people think.

Agreed^^ 5 and under need a kiddie potty, I would totally not bat an eye at a 2 year old

I guess 5 is a good age but to be honest I grew up practically feral and was naked publicly long after that so I think a 2.5 year old is perfectly fine. It wouldn’t even register on my radar if I saw that going on. Have fun at the festival!!

This age isn’t a big deal. My kids do it all the time.

You could always bring a blanket and drape it over the stroller for added privacy. Then at least you could say you tried blocking him.

I also agree with 5yo, as well. However, living in San Francisco, you see naked adult people all the time. So not sure you can really put an age limit to it. Unfortunately.
